Another big blip on the swell models, followed by a frenzy of hype, guns getting pulled from the rafters, skis tuned and gased up and last minute plane tickets being booked. These days, catching a big swell in one place is no longer the norm. Starting in Hawaii to surf Jaws or Waimea followed by a redeye over to Mavericks and possibly ending up at Todos seemed to be the trend for a select few. And for men who ride mountains, this could be the starting point for it all...Waimea Bay.
