Raw Tacos

Health Nuts

There are various misconceptions about raw food; some people believe raw food is bland, it does not provide the proper nutrients the body needs, it costs too much, and the prep time is not worth it. However, the truth is quite the contrary. Raw food can be just as tasty as anything cooked. By eating fresh, unprocessed foods, you are actually getting more of the nutrition and enzymes that are typically killed when cooking food as well as alkalizing your body at the same time. Integrating more fresh organic foods into your diet will only do good things for your health.

In this episode of Health Nuts, our friend Critter Baugh shares a simple recipe which utilizes some affordable ingredients to create a fresh new look at one of our favorite Mexican dishes...tacos.

Recipe:

  • 4 handfuls walnuts
  • 2-3 tablespoons Bragg's Liquid Aminos
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • 3 helping of nutritional yeast
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • whole lettuce leaves
  • fresh salsa
  • fresh chopped cilantro
  • fresh guacamole or avocado
  • spouts

Blend nuts, garlic, Braggs, nutritional yeast and coconut oil until mixed. Add taco mix on top of a lettuce leaf. Add salsa, guac, cilantro, and spouts. Enjoy!
